Xth Congress of the NLS
The annual Congress of the New Lacanian School (NLS) took place in Tel-Aviv this weekend of 16th and 17th June 2012, entitled «Reading a symptom». This Congress punctuated a fruitful year of work by the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the GIEP (Israeli Society of the NLS) in close collaboration with the NLS Executive Committee, around its President. The Congress brought together 340 people coming from different horizons in Europe. We could perceive, once again, the exciting combination between on the one hand, the diversity of countries and cultures within this School, and on the other, the ONE of the analytic practice and doctrine. The papers, of quality, provoked great interest. There is no doubt, the NLS advances. The welcoming of the participants, very much appreciated, carried the particular trace of the desire of the local group: warm and “with no fuss”. According to the custom in the last few years, the Congress was held in the active presence of the President of the Freudian Field and the Presidents of the WAP, the EFP and the Schools of the WAP in Europe. The Council of the EFP was able to get inspiration from the theme of the Congress to advance in its reflection on the theme of PIPOL 6.
The General Assembly of the NLS was held on Saturday evening. This Assembly acknowledged the biennial permutation of the Executive Committee of the School. We congratulate the outgoing Committee and its President Anne Lysy, for the great work done in the last two years. We wish good luck to the new Committee and to the new President of the NLS, Dominique Holvoet.
