Former editor-in-chief of Hurly-Burly, the International Lacanian Journal of Psychoanalysis, psychoanalyst Adrian Price has translated several articles by Jacques Lacan, and over recent years has lectured in Paris, London, Lausanne, Montreal, and New York.
The translator will be in conversation with Dr. Nancy Gillespie from NYFLAG, and the current editorial team of Hurly-Burly, at Book Culture bookstore on Monday 2 June at 7 pm.

Jacques Lacan is widely recognized as a key personality in the history of psychoanalysis and one of the most influential thinkers of the twentieth century. In his Seminar X, Lacan examines the nature of anxiety. He argues that it is not nostalgia for the object that creates anxiety, but its imminence. In what was to be the last of his yearlong seminars held at Sainte-Anne Hospital, these lessons from 1962-1963 form the keystone to the classical phase of his teaching, introducing for the first time the notorious object a in its oral, anal, scopic and vociferated guises.
The Book of this seminar, edited by Jacques-Alain Miller in 2004, has just been published in English-language translation by Adrian Price (Polity Press, Cambridge).

Please join us at BookCulture, Morningside Heights, 536 W 112th St, New York for the launch of this book and the launch of Hurly Burly 11.
